From the Syiyaya Reconciliation Movement, the Shishalh Nation held a small ceremony with partners and dignitaries to welcome a cedar tree, so that Tony Paul can begin the pre-project work to prepare the tree for carving in late June. He intends to carve tears into dreams for reconciliation.

A United Church Healing Fund was given to the Shishalh Nation to support healing initiatives for survivors of Residential School and the ongoing intergenerational impacts.

There will be a public event to celebrate the weaving project and to launch the carving project on the eve of June 21st, Indigenous Peoples' Day, in the Longhouse. All are welcome - more details to follow!!
