St. John's will be participating with others in the faith community in facilitating a 
Community Christmas Dinner
Sunday, December 19
between 4-6 pm
All meals for the Sechelt - Halfmoon Bay communities
will be served out of Holy Family, at 5700 Nickerson Rd, West Sechelt.
Gibsons meals will be served out of the Canadian Legion Hall
Strictly a pick-up or delivered meal.  NO sit-down service.

 
How to Register:

  • PLEASE CALL or TEXT 604-865-2011 with your name, contact info, number of meals you will be picking up, preferred pick-up time.
  • Santa will be there with gifts for kids so let us know the number of kids in your party and their ages.
  • Delivery available for shut-ins and those self-isolating

Things we are looking for at the present moment:

  • New or good condition UNWRAPPED toys
  • Christmas Cards (800)
  • Gift cards for London Drugs, Red Apple, prepaid Visa in $20 or $25 amounts (to be given to the teens and older children on the list)
  • Gift bags in reasonable shape for children’s gifts

If you have cards to donate, it would be most helpful if you could sign them as follows:  “Merry Christmas from your Christian Community”
 
Volunteering:
Volunteers make this holiday event possible.  This is a fun gig!  If you can help for a few hours as set-up crew, cook, server, delivery driver. traffic warden, greeter or the all-important clean-up crew, please call or text 604-865-2011.
 
Desserts:
Desserts must be made in the church kitchen and arrangements are being considered for a date and time for our wonderful bakers to get together.  If you wish to take part in the baking of desserts, please contact Grace Whitelock via the office at St. John's United Church.  More information will be posted when a date has been confirmed.
 
A collection box will be placed in the narthex of the church for donations.
