Alan and Dianne invite you to participate in A Geography of Grace, a small group program for the St. John's United Church congregation.  This is study series that will be held on Tuesday evenings between October 9th and February 19th, with a break in December and early January 2019.   Each evening will run for 2 hours, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. In addition, we may have a local retreat on Friday evening and Saturday, February 1st and 2nd, which will allow an extended experience of deep listening and the teaching and practice of a unique process called “Clearness Committee”.

Based on the work of Parker J. Palmer, a process called the Circle of Trust® approach has been developed to create a safe, confidential, sacred space where participants support one another in accessing the voice of their souls and inner lives.  The curriculum called  A Geography of Grace  will invite reflection on the themes of geography and nature as metaphors that speak to the inner life and offer a map of the terrain of the spiritual journey.  Also integrating the theme of grace, we will explore through art, poetry, music and movement, the ways that mystery, community and solitude nourish our lives and deepen our integrity.

Through this curriculum and the experience of travelling this Geography of Grace together, we believe our life as a congregation will be strengthened and enriched. Those who participate will learn how to listen deeply to one another and to create spaces that are safe for self-discovery and honest sharing.

Please consider joining us.  All participation in any circle of trust is invitational, but we ask that if you do chose to join this program that you commit to attending all the sessions.

Please contact Dianne (dianne.mary.baker@gmail.com) or Alan (alan.claassen@gmail.com) if you have any questions.

If you are ready to register, pick up a form at the church or see it on a page on the church website.
